The Williams collection

In his younger years David was immersed with the sport, as his father was an avid supporter of the Williams Racing and Red 5 himself, Nigel Mansell. From initially watching the sport on television, David followed the career of Damon Hill and witnessed his journey to becoming the 1996 F1 World Champion. The following year he attended his first Grand Prix at Silverstone. What began as an interest evolved into a true passion.

“My connection to the sport was through Williams Racing. I have many great memories following the team on TV and at the circuit. To be an official licensee of the team is a huge honour”.

David looks to draw from his passion towards the team to create his most vibrant and detailed artwork to date. Encapsulating the excitement, energy and emotion of the race from past and present.

“When creating a palette knife painting, I want the viewers to have the same reaction to the artwork as I felt watching the race”.

With a palette knife, David applies layer upon layer to capture every detail. This impasto technique builds vibrancy into his work, and the relief splatters of colour encapsulates energy and movement.
